How to prepare for a hot-air balloon flight: insider tips
A hot-air balloon flight is a unique experience you’ll remember for the rest of your life. The hot-air balloon flies with the wind – we never decide on the route! We always choose the take-off point, but we never know exactly where our flight will end. It’s with a light spirit that you should approach a hot-air balloon flight – you’ll come away dazzled and moved by the beauty of nature.
Our activity is entirely dependent on the weather, and we sometimes have to be patient before finding the ideal flight slot. Rain and strong winds are not hot-air ballooning’s best friends. Good weather is essential to get the most out of your flight.
The balloon takes off at sunrise, or two hours before sunset. In midsummer, it may be early in the morning, but it’s well worth the detour. The average flight lasts an hour, depending on the weather conditions. Morning flights and evening flights have different atmospheres – you’ll just have to try them out to find out.
Accessible to all, a hot-air balloon flight includes :
- Approx. 1 hour’s flight depending on the weather,
- A friendly welcome from the team,
- The chance to watch the balloon being inflated,
- And a convivial toast on landing.
To make sure you’re as comfortable as possible during your flight, it’s best to bring closed-toe shoes that can be adapted to any terrain. We recommend clothing similar to that used for hiking. Clothing that won’t get wet or dirty. For morning flights, bring a warm jacket for take-off.
